My situation. FTP between a UNIX SCO box and win 98 box using Kermit.
Can I directly connect the two boxes via the modems without having to
dial into the UNIX box? There is an issue of security and I am trying
to investigate the possiblity of connecting direclty using the modems.
I remeber in the olden days I was able to use a s/w package for ftp
using the modems directly. Can Kermit allow for this type of
connection or must I dial in using the phone lines?
The UNIX box is not on the network. It is a stand alone and is being
monitored by an outside source for data. I need to pull and place data
on the UNIX box locally. The two boxes are sitting side by side. If
there is anyone that can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks and have a great day.
